Ship Profile

Dinner Lounge The stylish and romantic M/S Alta was originally built in Norway as a 140 foot ketch rigged Motor Sailor, with the special charm of a classic sailing ship. The M/S Alta is 140 feet long and capable of going at 10 knots under power and 14 knots under sail.

Presently, the M/S Alta is one of the finest of luxury yachts to cruise in the Equatorial waters of the Galapagos Islands. Complete with many amenities, the M/S Alta has 8 cabins that accommodate up to 16 passengers. Each cabin offers private facilities, with fresh hot and cold water showers with ample hanging locker and drawer space. The Alta is fully air-conditioned, has autopilot capabilities, as well as satellite communications.

The M/S Alta’s main salon is very elegant and inviting. A curving banquet and coffee table stand opposite a cabinet holding the TV/Video system. At mealtimes, there are two alternatives inside, in the dining salon, which seats 16 in four tables or “al fresco”, on the outside deck.

The M/S Alta’s gourmet galley is well equipped and its talented chefs prepare and serve a delectable variety of international and Ecuadorian dishes, fine wines, tropical fruits and varied juices.
The M/S Alta offers many spots for sunning and relaxing, including a magnificent sundeck with lounge chairs, just forward of the bridge and another with cushions on the bow of the yacht.
